Mujadara
Ingredients
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- ½ tsp allspice
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp pepper
- 1 yellow onion (diced)
- ¼ c olive oil
- 1 c brown basmati rice
- 2 c green lentils
- 6 c water
Method
- In a large pot, heat olive oil and sauté onions until translucent.
- Add spices and sauté briefly, until fragrant.
- Add rice and sauté for about a minute.
- Add lentils and water. Bring to a boil. Simmer covered for 90 minutes.
