Potato Rolls

Ingredients

Method

Heat milk to scalding. Add lard and sugar. Cool to lukewarm. Add rest of ingredients dissolving yeast in lukewarm water and beat until smooth. Cover and let rise in warm place 2 hrs. Add 2 cups or more flour and stir to smooth, stiff batter and knead. Let rise 2 hours, kneading down about twice during this time. Roll 3 inch thick and cut in strips. Twist and form in rolls. Let rise until very light and bake in hot over 400°. While warm spread with confectioner sugar.
