Tofu in Hot Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 carton tofu, mashed and drained
- ½ lb ground pork
- 1 egg
- 4 Tbs cornstarch
- ¼ tsp salt
- 3 Tbs soy sauce
- Vegetable oil
- Several fat slices of ginger, minced
- Several garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 Tbs hot bean sauce
- Sesame oil
- Fresh spinach
- Green onions
Method
Tofu balls:
- Mix tofu, pork, egg, 1 Tbs cornstarch, salt, and 1 Tbs soy sauce.
- Fry as 1½″ bass in 2-3″ hot oil for 4 minutes until golden.
Sauce:
- Sauté garlic and ginger.
- Add—
- chicken broth
- hot bean sauce
- 2 Tbs soy sauce
- 3 Tbs cornstarch
- sesame oil
Add balls to sauce until heated thru.
Pour over spinach in serving bowl. Sprinkle with green onions.
